We had been running a Bakop storage server in most of the data centers in which we operate.
We are just completing a project to upgrade the Bakop service stack software to the most recent versions. As part of this project we switched to using our RimuHosting API. The service now automatically spins up a new Bakop storage server as a VM, installs the most recent Bakop software stack on the server, and then routinely monitors the setup for issues.
The VM model gives us lots of flexibility about which hardware (or data center) we run our storage servers.
We leverage the RimuHosting VM API to let us automatically allocate more disk space to the storage servers.
As part of this change, Bakop customers can now set up their storage accounts on their own (dedicated) storage server (not shared with other customers’ storage accounts).
