Account authorization and password resets

The primary way we identify our customers is via the email addresses associated with your account. If you do not communicate with us using one of these listed accounts, it may delay or slow the work we do on your server until we can verify you are authorized to request work done on the server.

If you still have access to the original email account the order was created with, then you can reset that password here:

https://rimuhosting.com/cp/emailpassword.jsp

If you do not have access to the account email address you can verify yourself in other ways.  You can provide us the last 4 digits of any credit card we are billing.  You can let us know your phone number (per what we should have in your contact details) and have us call you on that number.

Note that access to the RimuHosting control panel (http://rimuhosting.com/cp) is separate from access to your server/VPS (SSH, server control panels like webmin or Virtualmin, phpMyAdmin, and other webapps).

If you have access to your server, you pop a file on the server at /root to prove you have server access.

Once we have established your identity, we would be able to go ahead and reset the password for you.

If you have access to the RimuHosting control panel, but have lost the root password to the VPS or an FTP account on the server, then all you need to do is pop in an authenticated support ticket and we can reset that for you.

It’s never a good idea to email passwords or Credit Card details, you can drop those to us if needful via a secure support ticket. When we reset passwords we will typically save that on an encrypted page in your control panel, and advise you a link where you can see it.

We also recommend using this service for passing sensitive information:
